Jomari Myburgh is a third year BCom Economics and International Trading student at the North-West University in Potchefstroom (2017).
Jomari: “I love cats, dogs, and horses and am very passionate about my beliefs and of course netball. My favourite Bible verse and something I truly believe is that: “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me “- Philippians 4:13
I always try to be the best of me that I can ever be. I am a very positive, loving, motivated person and I never give up.
My proudest moment to date was when I got selected for the u/21 baby Proteas (South African) netball squad. I have played netball from a very young age and almost everyone in my family is netball fanatics, so netball has always been a very big part of my life. My mom is a very respected netball coach and umpire. My netball hero is the South African Netball Player, Erin Burger.
The scariest thing I ever did was a Shark Dive at Ushaka in Durban. Luckily I was in a cage. Some of the sharks circled the cage whilst others just glided slowly past.
An average day in my life looks more or less like this:
5:00 am – Gym
7:30 am – 5:30 pm – I have classes
6:00 pm – Netball practice
I am the most grateful for my family, friends and the opportunities that I have received and just being alive makes me happy.
Lately, I’ve been thinking a lot about what to do about my studies next year and about netball.
